Are you keeping up?

Have you been continuing to read a Psalm a day? If not, I challenge you to. For girls who are new to reading daily or who have busy lives, the Read-A-Psalm-A-Day challenge is right for you. I wrote over views for the first few chapter and will do some more here and there, but I don't have time to do one every day. I will be praying that you chose to fallow me fallow Christ with this challenge. It will be fun! I am going to try to write an over view of Chapter 14 tomorrow. Again, if you have any prayer requests or questions, feel free to leave a comment. Thanks!
May your day be filled with Gods grace!

Psalms 2

If you didn't see my post yesterday, I have started reading a Psalm a day.  Today I will be talking a bit about Psalms 2 and what I get out of it.  First of all, you should probably read Psalms two.  I would type it out, but the part we are focusing on today is longer than yesterday. Second, this passage wasn't to fun to write about, so forgive me about the shorter post today.  Let's get started, shall we?

Psalms 2:10-11. It is a wise thing to fear our God.  So many Christians today go their whole lives without ever fearing God.  What? you say, I thought we were supposed to love our loving God.  Well, yes He is loving, and yes we are called to love Him.  But we should also realize that He is the ultimate ruler of the universe!  Psalms 2:10-11 say, "Be wise and warned, rulers of the earth, serve the Lord with fear and rejoice in trembling."  Earlier in this passage, the author was speaking about ho the earths rulers wer acting in rage against Him.  This verse says "Serve with fear and rejoice with trembling."  Hmm... what could that mean.  Well I think it could mean two things

1.  We are to be afraid of God and the things He could do to us and only praise Him in the fear that He will hurt us.

2. We understand that He is the ruler over everything and has power, but He is also our creator and we should love AND respect Him.

I believe the answer is number two.  God has told us to be respectful of his power and judgement.  He is the Just Judge!  So keep these things in mind, sister of Christ, throughout this week.  God is the one who gave you life, but he also has the power to take it away.

Psalms 1

Sorry I have been taking a LONG break. It's just I have been busy with all the stress of summer activities. Why am I making excuses? Ok no excuse this time, but writing a new post has been on my heart lately. Today I started reading the book of Pslams. I am trying to read a Psalm a day. Easy enough, right? So today, of course, I started with Psalms 1. I was surprised to see that I had written lots of notes on this particular chapter. Notes included translations mentioned by my pastor one youth group. On said" Streams are the Word". Psalms 1:3 says" He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yeilds its fruit in season and whose leaf doesn't wither. What ever he does prospers." I interpreted this as "He is like a man planted in the Word of God, he yeilds fruit of God when He calls him to and he doen't ever fail. Whatever he does is good." To me, "A man planted in the Word " is someone who is solely focused on doing what his God yeild him to.
