Weekly feature! - Thankfullness

When you pray, it is good to ask God for help with things such as grades or to heal your sick cousin, but you also need to thank God for the things he has given you. That is why I am making a list of the ten things I am most grateful for. I haven't thought about what I have in a while and I thought it would be a good idea to encourage you to do the same. A list like the one below will help you realize what you have and the things that God has given you.

Things I am thankful for.....
1.The opportunity to talk to God whenever

2. Friendship

3.A loving God

4. Ancient history

5. Pictures

6. Thanksgiving dinner

7. A free country
8. Missionaries

9. Hair ties

10. Lazy days

This is my list of random things I am thankful for. If you would like to share yours, leave it in the comments and I will put it in next weeks weekly feature. I am also thankful for readers! :)

A heart that submits

Hello girls! Sorry no weekly feature this week busy with homework and such. Let's get ready to learn how to have a heart that submits!

In this chapter, Elizabeth explains how we can learn about what the Bible tells us about the roles in our family. One of the ten commandments is to honor your mother and father. A young woman after God's own heart strives to fallow His ways. By doing this we would be obeying God's guidelines. The next question Elizabeth asks is "How do we honor our parents?" To honor means to talk politely to them and also to respect and love them. Even if we don't get along with our parents, we are still to honor them. Better understanding of other teachings will help you in your obedience. Did you know....

-Parents are commanded by God to teach their children?
-Parents are commanded by God to train their children?
-Parents are commanded by God to discipline and correct their children?

When parents discipline their children, it proves their love. Only a parent who truly loved their child would discipline them. The reason parents discipline is so that there is not a huge mess to clean up latter. Eli was a priest and had two sons. Eli didn't discipline his sons correctly and therefore, made a huge tangle in his and his sons' lives. His sons did bad thing such as stealing the meat for the offerings and using it as food. God judged them and predicted when they would die and sure enough, He was right. Next Elizabeth reminds us of scriptures that talk about how to love, honor and respect your parents.

-Ephesians 6:13
-Colossians 3:20

OK. So we know that we are supposed to honor our parents, but how? Well, here are some areas that you may need to clean up.

-Your attitude
Is your attitude Happy and positive or is it grumpy and irritable? Seriously, be honest! Mine isn't always as I wish it would be.
- Your room
Even though your room is were you sleep, you still have to be mindful that your room is a part of your parents house. You should respect them in their decisions of cleanliness, noise, guests, whatever.
The conclusion to this blog is that even though you sometimes don't agree with your parents and they sometimes make you mad or upset, you should still obey and respect them. This is another thing that I struggle with. Don't get me wrong,(I love my parents!) but sometimes I can get mad at them. I try to remember that God commands them to discipline me and that They do it out of love.
